Summary
This project was developed students at the GRILL®. The prototype uses Vive Trackers to track objects in the real-world and provide analogs in the virtual world. This allows Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) to train in VR while maintaining realistic interactions with their equipment.
The VR JTAC trainer allows for a user to go through the steps of calling in close air support through utilizing physical JTAC equipment.

Outcomes and Additional Information
Joint Terminal Attack Controllers call in Close Air Support (CAS), supplement traditional forces, and provide significant tactical advantages.
The equipment includes a SOFLAM, PLRF, and Nine Line and is brought into the sim through utilizing Vive trackers. This allows for a user to still get tactile, realistic training with JTAC equipment while being immersed in VR.
