Summary
The AFRL's 711 Human Performance Wing (HPW)/RHDO tasked students at the GRILL® were tasked to make a cheaper, safer alternative to test airmen's human performance under impaired conditions such as when inhibited by a laser.

Outcomes and Additional Information
The team researched how to quantify laser properties in VR, including ambient lighting, laser power, and wavelength.
Human characteristics that can effect how laser strikes impact performance (such as age and eye color) were also researched.
This 2020 effort was expanded on in the 2022 Laser Eye Protection project.
